A Bit About Me

As a Kansas Citian, I have a strong passion for what I think is quality bbq. I grew up in Lee's Summit, Missouri and lived on Jack Stack bbq and the Kansas City Chiefs every Sunday. I graduated from Notre Dame de Sion in 2015 and packed my bags to the frigid air of Des Moines, Iowa. I attended Drake University for four years and ran on the Blue Oval for the track and cross country team. In 2019, I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism and Communications (Summa cum Laude) and with an angry arthritic toe. 

I am a marketing and communications professional seeking a career in the marketing industry. With more than five years of experience, I am a continuous learner who thrives on cutting edge marketing trends.

Missouri Valley U.S. Tennis Association (Intern) - produced and edited two highlight videos which included interviews and action footage. Wrote press releases, biographies and articles for the chapter’s website and annual magazine. Designed an action calendar, created player trading cards. Coordinated various tennis matches. 

Iowa Healthiest State Initiative (intern) - While working for HSI, I helped plan events for the Iowa State Fair and an annual statewide in October. Though these events, I wrote many press releases about the events, created supporting social posts for events. I was also in charge of designing marketing materials and creating toolkits for the walk's three audiences - schools, communities and workplaces. supporting the walk, an online voting system and social campaign was created and hosted on HSI's social channel. 

Bank Iowa (intern)Built and organized award winning social campaign, Bird's Eye View, point person for all public relations project, dedicated mortgage marketing liaison. Assisted with graphic design projects and managing internal marketing requests.

Bank Iowa (coordinator) - Oversaw all projects relating to public relations, website development, and social media. Developed multiple award winnings internal, external and social media campaigns. Point person for the bank's scholarship application period and assisted with all internal design requests. 

Bank Iowa (specialist) - Oversee and manage all social and website content. External communications leader. Assist with all internal and external email campaigns, coordinate and advertise for local events. Director of summer and fall marketing interns, Conduct market research and implement in creative campaigns. IT and Mortgage liaison for the marketing team. 

Awards

Every year, marketing and communications awards are presented to the highest quality campaigns and tactics within a region and can be included nationally and internationally. Bank Iowa submits awards to American Marketing Association of Iowa (AMA), Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Des Moines Hashies Award. I have been fortunate enough to be a part of an award winnning team and have had the opportunity to lead in many award winning projects.
